The Georg Henrik von Wright centenary 2016

In 2016 we celebrate the 100 years anniversary of the Finnish philosopher Georg Henrik von Wright (1916-2003). He gained international fame with works on philosophical logic, the philosophy of action, the philosophy of the humanities, the philosophy of norms and value and the philosophy of mind. In addition, he is known as one of the three literary executors of Ludwig Wittgenstein.  During his life-time he also gained the position as of one of the leading Nordic intellectuals through his critical discussions of subjects such as the exploitation of nature, the belief in the omnipotence of science and the building of nuclear plants.
