The International Association for Environmental Philosophy; CFP deadline

Meeting of The International Association for Environmental Philosophy at the annual meeting of the American Philosophical Association Eastern Division

27-30 December 2007, New York, NY

The International Association for Environmental Philosophy (IAEP) invites paper proposals in the form of full (1-2 page) abstracts. Proposals for either individual papers or sessions organized around a specific topic (3-4 presenters) will be considered. The deadline for submission of abstracts is Friday, May 1, 2009.

Please send 1-2 page (single-spaced) proposals in Word format to IAEP Secretary Steven Vogel (vogel (at) Since individual and panel proposals are chosen through an anonymous review process, names, affiliations, and addresses of authors and panel must be stated only on one (1) separate cover sheet and omitted from the proposals and footnotes. Proposals should also indicate any special audio-visual or equipment needs.

Notice of selection will arrive by mid-June. Presenters will be expected to have current IAEP membership.

The International Association for Environmental Philosophy offers a forum for the philosophical discussion of our relation to the natural environment. Embracing a broad understanding of environmental philosophy, IAEP encourages not only discussions of environmental ethics, but of environmental aesthetics, ontology, theology, the philosophy of science, political philosophy, ecofeminism, and the philosophy of technology. IAEP also welcomes a diversity of approaches to these issues, including those inspired by Continental philosophy, the history of philosophy, and the tradition of American philosophy.

Membership in IAEP is open to everyone. For information about joining IAEP or
